  • Min 4 GCSE passes (Grades A-C) or equivalent to include English and Mathematics and/or NVQ in Business Administration Level 2
  • Min RSA Stage II Typing/Word Processing or equivalent
  • Min 12 months secretarial experience
  • Able to type accurately at a minimum of 35-40 words per minute
  • Polite, clear and confident telephone manner and able to take messages that are accurate in their content
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met











  • To undertake filing, composition of letters, typing, photocopying etc for the Project Manager and other senior managers
  • To supervise other administration staff (e.g. clerks etc) on site, where appropriate
  • To maintain an up to date site appointments diary for the Project Manager and other senior managers, arranging meeting as required
  • To deal with telephone queries, taking clear and concise messages where appropriate
  • To co-ordinate local site travel arrangements, liaising with the Head Office in Chippenham with regards to booking of overseas travel and accommodation
  • To ensure that the site server is ‘backed up’ daily
  • To collate appropriate information for client reports
  • To carry out the ordering and maintenance of site stationary
  • To manage the project petty cash
  • To maintain, in conjunction with the Document Controller, the project filing system
  • To maintain holiday records for site staff in liaison with HR at Head Office
