Automation Engineer

Russell Taylor are working with the UK's leading independent provider of Electrical Control Systems including MCCs, Pump System Optimisation, Switchgear, Systems Integration ,Telemetry and Industrial Networks. They work primarily within the water industry but also cover manufacturing.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Automation Engineer, to be based in Southampton, with the purpose to take a role in process control projects in the water industry, sometimes coordinating the efforts of a small project team.

Expected salary of £40k + benefits

The role will require you to be responsible for:

  • Production of functional design specifications, configuration of PLC and SCADA packages, factory testing, site testing and site based commissioning
  • Informing the Group Manager of potential project opportunities and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Monitoring and planning projects to ensure they are completed to time and budget
  • Reporting on progress to Process Control Group Manager and highlight concerns
  • Ensuring that Engineering and Design activities meets all national and international standards, clients requirements and 'best' engineering practice
  • Contribution to maintenance of Technology/Process Control quality manual
  • Adherence to Technology/Process Control quality manual
  • Introduction of latest developments/practices where appropriate
  • Providing assistance to Process Control Group Manager for estimating assistance
  • Assisting sales function, visit clients, develop client relations
  • Conducting client satisfaction surveys as required
  • Some work and travel at various client jobsites

Additional requirements

  • Degree or similar in Software/Engineer related discipline
