Business Development Engineer / Solution Architect
Location: Flexible / Office is in Stone, Staffordshire

Russell Taylor is actively recruiting a permanent Business Development Engineer to work for a leading system integrator based in Stone. We are looking for candidates who ideally have 10 years' experience in Protection and Control.

You will be:
* Working with the Business Development Managers (BDMs) to provide technical support, system architectures, cost estimates etc.
* Supporting the technically diverse sales team, through meeting with clients to understand their needs.
* Responsible for maintaining strong relationships with technology providers to understand the latest technology.
* Carrying out surveys on client sites.
* Liaising with 3rd party suppliers and producing subcontract specifications in liaison with procurement.
* Producing detailed proposal documents.
* Involved in research and development activities related to specific propositions and solutions.
* Supporting Procurement/specifications/tender reviews/audits etc.

You must have:
* 10 years' experience in Protection and Control - software, hardware or electrical background with a good understanding of the engineering processes used in the development and execution of successful solutions.
* Experience of tendering and understanding of procurement processes.
* In depth understanding of the T&D and Energy sector and its associated standards, with a protection bias.
* Experience in effective time management to meet tight deadlines.
* Good communication skills.
* A naturally positive can-do attitude.
