I am currently recruiting for a cost engineer to work for one of the most advanced refineries in Europe, our client produces over 16% of the UK's fuel, they are a major supplier within the Northwest.
You will provide comprehensive and effective cost control and reporting service for the contract, to enable the effective management of expenditure and provide oversight of the budget. In addition, you will manage the timely collection of data to support ongoing budget control and forecasting in accordance with the contract and business requirements.
You will be the first point of contact for all Cost Engineering activities on major projects for our client, being a key contributor to improving processes, procedures and tools utilised by the function. As well as maintaining systems and resources to ensure the service is effective, you'll also prepare, monitor, and provide forecasts during project phases and the same again for expenditure profiles and accruals. You'll report on Earned Value Analysis to identify critical areas and trends, recommending recovery options when needed, and of course many other duties associated with this area of work.
Review EPC monthly cost and progress report.
Prepare monthly cost reports (budgets, forecasts, expenditures, commitments).
Prepare and submit monthly accruals.
Assist to prepare project cost reconciliation.
Provide project cost, estimating, schedule, progress measurement, change management and closeout support to project team.
Interface and participate in meetings with EPC contractor and project team to ensure common understanding of cost, schedule, progress, and change management requirements.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with refineries and also within the Oil and gas sector.
