Our client was established in 1981 and have since been delivering fuel and lubricant products to both the commercial and domestic sector. They have been providing refuelling solutions for some of the largest UK, Irish and European transport companies. The client pride themselves on their customer service and extensive knowledge of the fuel industry.

Quick overview of the role:

  • The Credit Controller works as part of the existing Credit Control Team. They are responsible for managing their own debtor's ledger and customer fuel spend versus Credit Limit. This is a key role in the company minimising debt and assisting the cash flow of the client.
  • The position is a target-based role situated in the clients Belfast office, within a small, professional, and experienced friendly Credit team.

What will you actually be doing?

  • Collection activity through to litigation stage
  • Preparation of monthly aged debt reports
  • Aiming to meet set KPI'S
  • Maximizing volume opportunities in line with business goals and targets
  • Preparation of monthly aged debt reports
  • Statement preparation
  • Send invoices/ statements on a weekly basis as per customers requests
  • Carry out Customer Account Reconciliations
  • Liaising with customers to conclude all queries
  • Involved in credit checking new customers and opening new credit accounts
  • Daily check bank accounts for payments and returned direct debits
  • Contact debtors / customers for outstanding payment and arrange payment plans as necessary
  • Process / run Direct Debits daily
  • Complete Exposure Report daily, contacting customers regarding interim payments
  • Ensure all credit control procedures are always adhered to

What hours will I work?

  • The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm & Friday 8.30am- 4.00pm

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a target driven environment with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with evident good telephone technique
  • The ability to work as part of team as well on own initiative
  • Demonstrable commitment to confidentiality
  • Excellent IT Skills with proven experience in Microsoft Packages
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Confident, enthusiastic, professional and pro-active approach
  • Experience in an office environment (Desirable)


- A current and valid driving licence and access to personal transport for business use/or have access to a form of transport
