Divisional Manager (Food Ingredients)

UK Based

Circa £70k Package

Job Purpose:

The Divisional Manager will have complete P&L responsibility for the Ingredients Division and also for meeting the Division's sales and profit targets, which contribute to the organic growth of the organisation.


The Divisional Manager reports directly to the Managing Director.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy, including the organisational development plan for the Division
  • Develop and execute the business plan and contribute as required to the annual planning cycle
  • Manage and develop key supplier and customer relationships
  • Manage and contribute actively to the sales and business development activities of the team
  • Plan, monitor and review objectives and action plans of team members
  • Guide and coach team members to improve personal and divisional / organizational performance
  • Gain and analyze market insight, indicators and trends
  • Identify and lead the development of new business opportunities
  • Provide relevant management information and data analysis in due time
  • Ensure a consistent opportunity pipeline
  • Ensure correct use of CRM and other relevant systems throughout the team
  • Ensure the Division has all the necessary accreditations and certification to serve the chosen target markets

Knowledge/skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level, a qualification in Food Technology or similar would be advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant management experience
  • Minimum 5 years' commercial experience (B2B sales) in relevant market
  • Experience in the food ingredients business in at least one of our key focus areas (nutrition, savoury, bakery, dairy, beverages)
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both verbally and in writing
