Quick overview of the role:

  • The client is in need of an Electrical Design and Control Engineer who can develop cost effective electrical solutions for weighing, waste and filling systems. An ideal candidate would be a person who works on low voltage 240v controllers and motors and on 24v systems.
  • The correct candidate will be comfortable working with interface drive motors, belted systems, electronic sensors and inverters, as well as relays and power circuits.

What will you actually be doing?

  • Develop electrical design solutions and discuss costs/benefits with senior management.
  • Producing circuit prototypes and electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Producing electrical schematics, circuit layouts, test instructions and specification data for Technical Files.
  • Liaising with the manufacturing department during prototype and production 1st off runs.
  • Collecting and analysing data from test results.

What hours will I work?

  • Standard working hours 9-5pm

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge about electrical/control design capability.
  • Knowledge within weighing environment would be advantageous.
  • A creative flair and design ability and be able to review and analyse technical options
  • Good attention to detail and good electrical/control problem solving ability.
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Time management and organisational skills


Degree/HND/HNC Electrical Engineering with suitable practical hands-on design work experience.
