Electrical Engineering Technician (FMCG & Packaging)

We are EXCLUSIVELY recruiting for our client, a hugely successful FMCG and contract packaging company based near Salford, as they look to expand their Manufacturing and Production Teams. Their market is thriving, they are a completely safe business to join even during these challenging global times.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Manager, you will support and assist in achieving the department's KPI's.
Becoming part of a multifunctional team, you will ensure the productive and efficient running of lines several fast-paced packaging lines. You will be involved with all operational tasks from offload, through to palletisation.
Key responsibilities as our Electrical Engineering Technician
*Overseeing and carrying out effective changeovers to the adherence of the change over procedure
*Monitoring and recording performance of changeovers
*Carrying out training and skill assessments during changeovers
*Developing change over procedures, tooling and department skills to maximize the effectiveness of change overs.
*Ensuring product is bottled to the highest possible quality standards and complies with all Customs & Excise trading standards requirements and meets the needs of the customers specifications and time requirements.
*Assisting the Manufacturing Shift Manager in the management and control of costs in line with budgeted requirements and to deputise in his absence
*Maximising production output through effective
*Rectifying of machine faults, preventative maintenance work and continuous improvement activities
*Continually review hygiene and ensure all CIP procedures are adhered too.
*Undertaking disciplinary action according to the disciplinary procedure to verbal warning stage
*Helping to identify, plan and implement a continuous training and development program in line with IIP principles, which enhances process departmental and people skills.
*Recommending, supporting and introducing improvement initiatives to improve departmental, team and individual performance and efficiencies.
*Ensuring all documentation and recording systems are maintained to high standards on a daily basis in accordance with ISO 9001:2000
*Maintaining a high degree of both product and personal safety in accordance with HSE, EHO and HMCE requirements, ensuring adherence to all legislative requirements and by the implementation and auditing of risk assessments controls and HACCP
Skills required as our Electrical Engineering Technician
*Full indentured apprenticeship and or qualified engineer to HND in an engineering discipline
*The Electrical Engineering Technician will have a minimum of 5 years employment as an engineer and have a comprehensive knowledge of most plant and procedures
*Minimum certified in first line management ILM level 2 or equivalent.
*Practical Interpersonal Skills
*People Management Skills
*IOSH Managing Safely Qualification (preferred)
*Proficient in using Microsoft Office and SAP (or equivalent)
*Haccp / Vaccp / Taccp awareness
*Able to operate all equipment across processing and production
*Internal Auditing Qualifications (preferred)
*Able to carry out basic Risk assessment
