Job Description

Maintenance Engineer (ME)

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday

£22,000 - £26,000 DOE



Our manufacturing client based in Lancashire are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join the team. You will be responsible for machinery repairs and maintenance and general operational maintenance on site.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Fault finding on manufacturing machinery
  • Complete and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Assess needs of spare parts
  • Liaise with suppliers for spare parts, repairs, service and maintenance
  • Ensure that resources are used to optimum effect


  • In conjunction with the PM implement a schedule for planned and preventative maintenance
  • Liaise with external specialists to plan in preventative maintenance Continuous Improvement
  • In conjunction with the HM and PM develop and implement a programme of

Continuous improvement

  • To work with the HM, PM and OD on new machinery and process projects as required
  • Develop new and alternative methods of working to improve manufacturing efficiency

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support other functions as required by the business
  • Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
  • Develop procedures and provide appropriate training as required
  • Conform with HSE legislation, policies and procedures

Qualifications and Personal attributes

The post-holder will have:

  • BTEC Operations and Maintenance Engineering
  • 17th Edition
  • EITB Mechanical Engineer
  • 3 - 5 years maintenance experience
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Be a Quick learner
  • Be a Self-motivator
  • Be able to multi task
  • Be hard working
  • Be enthusiastic
  • Be a team player
