Preventative Maintenance Technicians (FMCG & Packaging)
£30,000 + Competitive benefits package
Sunday - Thursday 6pm-2am

We have an exciting opportunity for TWO Preventative Maintenance Technicians to join our clients team based near Trafford Park, Manchester. These are permanent, full time positions, working 40 hours per week, Sunday-Thursday 6pm-2am.
The Preventative Maintenance Technician Role
In this role, you will make a valuable contribution towards reducing Engineering downtime to below 20% by identifying and addressing potential issues which will impact on equipment availability and efficiency prior to failure and providing working resolutions.
Key responsibilities as our Preventative Maintenance Technician will include:
Reducing or eliminating temporary fixes from production equipment, and purposely looking for these during maintenance
Ensuring all equipment is maintained to a safe condition and escalating any issues which cannot be resolved immediately to the Engineering Nightshift Co-Ordinator
Completing all weekly scheduled maintenance documentation correctly, accurately, and storeing them in the allocated location
Suggesting ways to improve maintenance and process
Having responsibility for carrying out weekly scheduled maintenance activities and repairing faults found when production demand / time allows
Escalating any outstanding issues and documenting them on the Preventative Maintenance sheet
Ensuring all equipment is in a safe condition to function, and any Health & Safety issues are addressed immediately
Addressing any potential equipment failures before they impact on production and cause downtime
Repairing any temporary fixes on equipment whilst carrying out weekly maintenance
Identifying repeat / premature failures on equipment and suggest improvements where necessary
Skills required as our Preventative Maintenance Technician
Time served Engineering Apprenticeship
A formal Engineering Qualification such as C&G, BTEC etc
Basic Electrical Knowledge
Person must be reliable, flexible, proactive, dependable and a team player with a positive attitude
