Role: - Project Lead- New Process Development (Chemical)

Location: - Wirral

Working Hours: - Flexible working hours (37.5-hour week)- Monday-Thursday (core hours 9-3:30pm), Friday- early dart at 1:30pm.

Russell- Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Scientist/Project Lead to join a well- established global material specialist manufacturing company. The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for managing multiple projects and managing an individual scientist within the R&D Thermal Product Division. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent people and project management experience and have a background working within the Chemical or Material Science industry.

Responsibilities

  • Bringing in new processes and product capabilities to the division- including safety, cost, and product offering.
  • Provide technical consultation and expertise to the manufacturing operation teams and work closely with the Centre of Excellence.
  • Manage a scientist within the R&D team
  • Manage and be responsible for the budgeting of new technologies and ideas (CAPEX)
  • Develop, implement, and manage design of experiments on new projects
  • Use statistical analysis and results evaluation
  • Work using the stage gate methodology
  • Have adequate knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Work closely with the product management group to identify market trends
  • Provide excellent communication to form relationships with external suppliers.
  • Develop team members to grow into future leaders.

The Person

  • Degree or relevant experience within the Material Science or Chemical Engineering field.
  • Extensive knowledge of product development and process development.
  • Experience of writing CAPEX reports and understanding of budgeting/finance
  • Experience of project management
  • Strong people management experience
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Strong team player and ability to help develop other individuals
  • Working knowledge of Stage Gate methodology would be ideal
