Project Manager (Main Contracting)

Location: Reading

Salary: £65,000 + Car / Car Allowance


I have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join a North West leading main contractor. The contractor specialises in large high rise residential schemes varying in value from £20m - £100m.

Due to a number of large developments they are looking to add a Project Manager to their team to work on a site in Reading and you will be expected to manage the project which includes the attainment of the required quality, safety programme, and profitability, co-ordination of site works and management of subcontractors resulting in a successful project completion. You will be expected to set the agenda for the construction process and the design / information co-ordination to achieve that process. You will have the overall responsibility for construction, through to the completion of the building, to the agreed programme. To discuss, support and advise team members on a regular individual and team basis and where necessary liaise with Human Resources for additional support.

It is essential you have experience of working for a main contractor and managing £30 million + developments.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • NVQ Level 4, HND, Degree or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Building or working towards desirable
  • Good knowledge of contract law
  • Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word & Excel
  • CSCS Card
  • Good communication skills
  • Assertive and strong persuasion skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Good management and leadership skills
