Proposals Manager

Russell Taylor are currently seeking a Proposals Manager to work for a System Integrator in Telford. The company have full design, manufacturing and test facilities, and operate in several industries including the metals, material handling, automotive, marine and energy sector.

Summary of Role

* This is a senior manager's position within the company.
* You will be handling technical quotations, estimates and costings
* Responsible for managing internal proposal team, overseeing and coordinating engineering resources to support complex proposals
* You will be reporting directly to the Commercial Director

Job Responsibilities

* Prepare quotations and specifications for automation application tenders, within the set deadline date
* Oversee and manage the internal tenders team at our Telford office
* Liaise with the sales team, to include project updates, latest industry technologies
* Handle sales and project customer requests for information
* Deliver a high quality service to customers, maintain the company's reputation as a leading edge systems integrator
* Provide technical support and training to the tenders team
* Manage and control engineering resources to support complex technical bids
* Attend customer survey, tender and project review meetings when required
* Adhere to all relevant standards and work to the Company's ISO9001 registered quality procedures
* Comply with all company procedures as defined in various documents including the Quality Manual, Staff Manual and Health & Safety Manual
* Cooperate with company activities such as supporting fellow engineers and assisting with sales and site support
* Maintain excellent working relationship with customers, suppliers and company staff
* Work outside normal hours in order to meet required deadlines
* Travel within the UK and overseas
* Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* Qualified to degree level (or similar) in electrical/electronic engineering
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Detailed knowledge of systems integration incorporating variable speed drives, robotics, PLCs and SCADA/HMI technologies
* Strong communication skills in all areas
* Capable of using initiative and paying close attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of prioritising
* Ability to work either individually or as part of a team
* The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
