Job Description

My Client is a well-established regional building contractor looking to attract an experienced site based Senior Quantity Surveyor and also Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to assist with their Northern operations. The client has two vacancies on initial projects that would suit an intermediate or senior quantity surveyor one site is based in Preston and the other site in Warrington. Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be working on a variety of projects in the North West ranging in values between £2m - £8m.

The successful Candidate will have proven New Build/Construction experience working for a main contractor. You must have experience of cost budgeting, contract administration, sub-contract procurement and ideally be qualified to Degree level. Projects will vary between care homes, houses, hotels , high rise and commercial schemes so a broad background would be an advantage.

Duties will include:

  • Monthly Valuations
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities
  • Carrying out Take Offs
  • Monitor material and labour costs
  • Communicate with project staff and sub-contractors regularly to ensure all commercial procedures in place

Individual Requirements:

  • Qualified to Degree level in relevant area desirable.
  • Previous experience working with a main contractor

The successful candidate will be proactive and work to their own initiative, and also comfortable working as part of a large team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant to move up to intermediate level and also for an Intermediate to move into a senior Quantity Surveyor role within a well-established and reputable regional contractor.
