Job Description

Role:- Business Development Sales Manager (Nutraceutical/Pharmaceutical/Food)

Location:- Leeds (flexible home working and office- will be on the road more in the future)

Salary:- £40,000- £50,000 per annum

Working Hours:- Monday-Friday (9-5pm with 1 hour lunch break)

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic and exclusive opportunity for a Sales Manager who has previous experience working with the Nutraceutical and Pharmaceutical Field to join a fresh start up Chemical Distributing company who have grown from strength to strength since 2018. Although being employed directly through the start-up company you will be working on the product line with their sister company which is a Botanical Extracts company based overseas which specialise in the manufacture, sales, and service of specifically Tannic and Gallic Acid which is widely used with the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical field. The ideal candidate will have previous external sales experience, you will begin with a warm desk but will be expected to go out and bring in new accounts.


  • Manage the existing EU Customers/distributors (around 4-7 accounts currently)
  • Develop new business within the European Market by pro-actively searching for new customers. This will include travelling and meeting customers face to face.
  • Define and analyse the competitor's strategy, products, prices, market trends and customer feedback, change of customer needs and customer feedback.
  • Research and identify customer needs and apply commercial and technical support to achieve sales growth.
  • Organise technical presentations with the support of the scientific team
  • Work closely with the distributors and key accounts to keep on top of the number of visits, sales, stocks, and samples.
  • Participate in local and international exhibitions
  • Work closely with the Sales Director

The Person

  • Significant amount of previous external sales experience within either of the following industries- Pharmaceutical, Nutraceuticals, ingredients, or cosmetics.
  • Ideally educated within the Scientific field.
  • Strong business acumen and B2B experience - previous experience of bring in new accounts.
  • Able to analyse the market, marketing, and sales planning.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel to Europe to meet customers
  • Ability to work independently - very autonomous based role
  • Experience in either Gallic or Tannic acid or similar products would be advantageous
