Research Scientist II

Russell Taylor Group is delighted to be working with an award-winning UK based CRO, which has been providing expert synthetic chemistry support for 20 years. Operating from state-of-the-art research facilities in Loughborough and BioCity, Nottingham, UK, the client is a leading Contract Research Organisation, providing Drug Discovery and Chemical Development services to the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries.

The client is seeking passionate and driven scientific researchers to join their drug discovery and development teams.

The client has announced significant expansion plans, which will see them occupy a large, world-class research facility at Charnwood Campus, Loughborough from Autumn 2021.

Candidate specification:

The client is seeking candidates at all levels and with a range of experience: from recently qualified Masters and PhD graduates in organic and medicinal chemistry, through to more senior applicants with relevant industrial experience in Chemical Synthesis, Medicinal Chemistry or Process Research & Development.

For the Research Scientist II opportunity, the successful candidate requires at 2- 3 years' experience within an industrial environment and have a PhD in Organic Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry. Knowledge / experience in training of scientists and lab technicians is essential.

You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, have good planning and organising skills. In addition, you will have a high level of attention to detail and be able to identify and analyse and resolve routine problems. You will demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, keeping team and management informed. You will contribute to the group development effort undertaking research. You will be keen to work in a highly collaborative environment spanning Discovery and Development activities, and to foster outstanding working relationships with an unwavering client focus.
