Role: Senior Test Engineer (RF/Radio/mmwave)

Location: Hampshire & Berkshire Salary: Competitive Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5.30pm plus potential overtime

A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Test Engineer with Radio/mmwave test experience, you will be given full training for a 3-6-month period based in Hampshire and then will be working directly on the customer site in Berkshire dealing with all customer requirements (evaluating, completing test reports for customer samples, and following test plans).

Responsibilities

  • Follow complex test plans and datasheets, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are managed accordingly.
  • Records, evaluates, and completes test reports for customer samples
  • Operate and maintain complex test equipment
  • Communicate with customers during setup and operation, also ensuring that project status is communicated as well as the results.
  • Will explain and be able to understand specific test standards and product technology
  • Builds, adapts, or directs simple test setups and equipment based on the situations with instructions from engineers
  • Train up other laboratory staff on the test procedures and equipment.
  • Performs maintenance on designated test equipment and the specific laboratory area as well as some calibration.
  • Integrate continuous improvements concepts into all aspects of the job.
  • Communicates with management and technical staff- ensuring that suggestions are made, for example when new equipment is needed and when new processes need to be implemented to improve accuracy and efficiency.

The Person

  • Educated to Degree or College/City & guilds equivalent (HNC/HNC/ONC) with the engineering or scientific engineering related field.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 OR ISO 17025
  • Previous experience of working to specific Microwave/mmwave radio technology compliance testing for example ETSI, FCC and ISED or to EN300 Standard series
  • Experience of working with RF equipment (Spectrum/Network Analyser/harmonic mixer/downconverter/signal generator/RF Power meter).
  • Excellent communicator as eventually you will be working directly on the customers site dealing directly with their requirements.
  • Self-starter and ability to hit the ground running once the training has been undertaken
