Job Description

Customer Site Responsibilities and Duties:

Under direction of the Directors and/or Project Engineers of RMR Control and Automation Ltd:

  • To carry out site surveys
  • To carry out installation for smaller projects
  • To oversee sub-contracted installation teams on larger projects, including monitoring visits (with senior staff and/or alone)
  • To carry out commissioning on projects (with assistance)
  • To carry out modification and maintenance work on existing systems (including software under guidance)
  • To maintain a tidy and safe working environment
  • To follow company Health and Safety Policy and associated risk assessments and method statements

Workshop Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To assemble, wire-check and test electrical control panels;
  • To duplicate and modify electrical circuit diagrams using CAD or similar software
  • To maintain a tidy and safe working environment

An additional £4,250 is payable for the following duties which can be included within the role after training:

Telephone and Online Support Responsibilities and Duties (including out of hours):

Under direction of the Directors , every third week including weekends:

  • To provide telephone support and advice to assist customer's shift supervisors and maintenance personnel with system fault diagnostics
  • To undertake remote online access to customer's systems to support fault diagnostics
  • To perform minor online modifications to customer's systems in order to rectify a fault
  • To contact the Technical Director if a fault cannot be resolved to the customer's satisfaction.


  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)


  • Installing and maintaining electrical control systems
  • Following risk assessments and method statements
  • Finding technical solutions to problems
