RTG supports Wirral Chamber at apprenticeship event

Russell Taylor Group chairman Peter Russell joined Gareth Jones, apprentice strategy manager with Greater Merseyside Learning Providers’
Federation, on a business platform in the run-up to the introduction of the new government Apprenticeship Levy next year.
Both were part of the launch of the new Wirral Chamber of Commerce In Business initiative, designed to bring together companies and organisations throughout Wirral to network and discuss topics vital to their development and growth.
Russell Taylor Group, as a patron of the Chamber, sponsored this first event and Peter said: “Our company has a long and successful history of taking on apprentices and regards them as ‘home grown talent’ to be developed and nurtured so they can flourish and become our own white-collar workforce of the future.
“It’s therefore important that we find out as much information as we can about this new government initiative which will impact on all our businesses.”
The Apprenticeship Levy comes into force in April 2017 and will change the way the government funds apprenticeships. Some employers will be required to contribute to the new Apprenticeship Levy and there will be changes to the funding for apprenticeship training for all employers.
