Huge regeneration projects which could change the face of the Merseyside landscape have put a new focus on ambitious growth plans for Russell Taylor Group.

Thousands of new jobs are predicted to be created with the setting up of the Wirral Growth Company and its potential £1bn development programme for waterfront heritage sites in Birkenhead.

The Wirral Council vision for the initiative – announced last week at the MIPIM property event in Cannes – co-incided with the news that Peel, the developer behind the multi-billion pound regeneration of Wirral Waters, is planning a one million sq ft Marine, Energy and Automotive Park on the site, targeting major manufacturing companies in the energy and marine sectors.

Also planned is a Maritime Knowledge Hub, which Peel calls a “university of the sea”, to build on Liverpool City Region’s strength in the maritime sector.

Rob Kurton, operations director at construction and engineering recruitment specialist, Russell Taylor Group, said: “Confidence in the growth of Liverpool City Region is good news all round, particularly for businesses like ours, which are prominent within the region’s construction and engineering sectors.

“It's a largely buoyant local market and, with massive regeneration projects like this in the pipeline, things can only get better.

“Russell Taylor Group has just had its best ever trading year and seen sales staff double. Our expansion has already resulted in us taking on nine new consultants since the beginning of this year, enabling us to better serve our clients and candidates in the regional and national technical engineering and construction markets.”
