ANOTHER fundraising goal has been achieved by Russell Taylor Group staff with their charity five-a-side football tournament in aid of Claire House children’s hospice.

Ten teams, made up of colleagues, professional partners and friends, took part in the challenge organised by Charlie Ward, senior recruitment consultant in the business’ Technical Engineering Division, and Industrial Trades Division manager Tom Owens. The event was held at Birkenhead’s Soccer Dome.

Winners of the Russell Taylor Cup were Claire House Dads - Tom Owens is pictured with their captain - while FC Jota won the Claire House Cup.

The tournament has so far raised more than £400 for the Wirral hospice that helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full.

Russell Taylor Group managing directer Rob Kurton said: “This event is just another example of our staff pulling together and giving up their time to fundraise for local good causes.

“We are great supporters of Claire House and the work it does to help children and their families at extremely difficult times of their lives. Over the years we have raised many thousands of pounds for the hospice and this commitment will continue as part of the business’ plans to make a difference to the local community.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to boost the final figure even further. Donations can be made by going online to https://gofund.me/576fe977
