Role: -Laboratory Technician - Fire product testing
Location: -Gloucestershire- onsite role Mon-Friday (8-4pm)
Salary: - Starting salary £24,000, increasing after probation

Russell- Taylor Group are working with one of the UKs Fire Safety Organisations to help recruit for two (potentially more) Laboratory Technicians to join their fire testing department. If you have some laboratory-based experience this would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
If you are eager to learn, enjoy working part of a team and want to learn some intricate testing techniques within a lab setting as well as being happy to work outdoors and occasionally work at height or in a confined space then please apply within! **Please note, this is not your typical white lab coat role, it is very much hands on with physical testing**

Responsibilities
• Prepare and inspect test samples with precision and care
• Support the setup and execution of fire resistance tests
• Maintain accurate records and complete test documentation
• Operate machinery and handling equipment- training will be provided if you don't have experience in this.
• Follow strict health & safety protocols and UKAS accredited procedures
• Communicate with clients professionally and confidently.
• Monitor the lab environment for safety, efficiency, and cleanliness
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing materials and equipment
• Report issues or irregularities promptly to ensure testing runs smoothly

Key Attributes:
• Educated to A-Level (Science, Engineering related) or equivalent. Graduates also to be considered.
• Experience working in a lab/mechanical testing role (Desirable)
• Practical, hands-on approach or technical aptitude
• Clear communicator with good verbal and written skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Proactive and adaptable under pressure
• Team player who values collaboration and shared knowledge
• Well-organised and able to manage time effectively
• Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Willingness to learn technical software (e.g., data logging systems)
• Comfortable working in a physical, lab-based environment, outdoors and in confined spaces.
