QC Microbiologist
Location: Alton, Hampshire
Shift: Permanent early shift, 05:45am - 2:00pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 plus company Bonus

Join a leading healthcare manufacturer

We're offering an excellent opportunity for a QC Microbiologist to join our large, established manufacturing facility in Alton. Reporting to the QC Laboratory Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring product quality by carrying out microbiological and environmental testing, supporting product release, and assisting with physical testing when required.

About the Role

This is a laboratory-based position requiring strict adherence to GLP, GMP, and health & safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
• Microbiological testing of DI water, raw materials, bulk, and finished products
• Environmental monitoring within the facility
• Releasing materials and products from quarantine following compliant testing
• Supporting validation activities and carrying out physical testing
• Identifying microorganisms to species level and performing routine media checks
• Maintaining accurate records, databases, and laboratory standards
• Operating, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory equipment
• Raising non-conformances and assisting with technical/quality issues

Qualifications & Experience

Essential
• Degree in a science discipline (Biology/Microbiology preferred)
• Practical experience in microbiological testing
Desired
• Environmental testing experience
• Experience with method validation, cleaning validation, or physical/chemical testing
• Understanding of GLP/GMP environments

Personal Attributes

• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently or in a small team
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
• Competent in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
