Job description
Our client's workload is growing and they are looking for pipefitters who are looking for a permanent job to join their team, our client specialises in the bespoke design and fabrication of process related projects working with stainless steel and Carbon pipework mainly over 30" and they are looking for a competent pipefitter to join their team on a permanent basis. As our client works in the process sector candidates with experience in the gas & Oil, Petrochemical, Automotive, Water Sector, Feed Food & Beverage hold an advantage.
You will be required to:
Be able to read and interpret engineering piping drawings, P&ID & GA drawings or product specifications including the understanding of welding symbols to determine build sequence, methods of fabricating & assemblies.
Layout and mark dimensions and reference information on material.
Complete pipe spool weld set-ups.
General requirements:
·Working with various materials grades such as Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Low Temp, Chrome Moly etc…
·Working between workshop and site to deliver projects as required.
·Work as part of a team to produce orders on time.
·Ensure tolerances and parameters are met.
·Prepare / process materials prior to assembly.
·Check products for compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
·Comply with established quality control procedures and documentation standards.
·To check plant / equipment prior to and after use highlighting any faults/ defects to the Fabrication Shop/Site Supervisor.
·Travel to sites as and when required.
Essential experience:
·Perform pipe fitting operations to a high standard for 100% visual inspection.
·Ability to read engineering drawings.
·Worked on various material thickness and grades.
·Other related fitting experience would be advantageous.
·Competent to work in silo from start to project completion.
·Experience within, gas & Oil, Petrochemical, Automotive, Water Sector, Feed Food & Beverage etc…
Skills:
·Be skilled with various fitting & fabrication techniques for small bore and large bore (up to 36'').
·Demonstrate the safe use of associated equipment including abrasive wheels, grinders etc.
·Fabricate, assemble and install new work and carry out repairs, maintain and efficiently run plant & equipment.
·Ability to work in a safe manner with minimal supervision.
Desirable qualifications:
·Time served apprentice.
·City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC equivalent qualification.
·NVQ Level 3 trade qualification in relevant field, ACE Card equivalent.
·CSCS Card (Blue / Gold) or CCNSG.
Pay: £25.00 per hour minimum of £48,000 per year
Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
Schedule:
·Monday to Friday
·Overtime available
Weekend work available
