Excellent salary package (DOE)

My client are a large-scale developer/contractor that deliver a mixture of both new build and refurbishments. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to strengthen their team with an Estimator.

My client have a focus in high-rise residential schemes, with values ranging from £20m - £60m and above. They also undertake some refurbishment projects, mainly on listed buildings, so experience working on a similar project would be advantageous.

You will be strongly commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills. You will have strong communication skills and experience working closely with clients.

The Estimator they are looking for will have excellent technical skills and proven track record of winning bids. You will have excellent knowledge of general building projects.

You will have a first-class grounding in the preparation of proposals and tenders.

The successful candidate will undertake the following duties:

  • Reading construction drawings and measuring quantities
  • Issuing detailed tender enquiries and then negotiating the most competitive tenders based on cost, programme, and quality
  • You will be placing subcontract orders and ensuring that they arrive on time and within budget
  • Attend sub-contract and design team meetings
  • Attending site weekly (or as required) to review issues including providing solutions and advice to ensure successful project completion

Skills and Knowledge required:

  • BSC Degree in Quantity surveying or similar
  • The ability read and interpret drawings
  • Negotiation, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong IT Knowledge
  • Strong analytical pricing skills
