Role: - Head of Approved body (machinery)

Location: - Remote (with occasional travel)

Salary: - Competitive (DOE)

Type: - Permanent

Hours: - Monday to Friday (37 hours)

Russell-Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a head of approved body's to join a global testing company in the South East of England. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of industrial machine design and testing, with extensive knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065, 17020, and 17025.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare test programs, review test reports and issue relevant certification
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with ISO 17065
  • Conduct pre-assessments and formal ISO 17025 audits of manufacturers' own test laboratories in accordance with relevant certification schemes
  • Actively identify new product standards to ensure certification scheme is kept relevant and up to date
  • Ensure compliance with accreditations and liaise with all external accreditation agencies
  • Ensure accreditations are updated to the latest test standards
  • Identify training and development requirements to deliver training plans to technical staff
  • Participate in training courses
  • Conduct technical file assessments against regulations
  • Support company stakeholders and management teams with accurate forecasts and statistics for the Approved Body activities
  • Provide P&L support to company stakeholders
  • Ensure fairness is maintained throughout the certification process
  • Assist sales and attend technical meetings to help with preparations of quotations

The Person

  • Have a background in electrical/mechanical engineering
  • Be technically proficient in multiple engineering disciplines
  • Good working knowledge of certification body requirements
  • Experience of EU and UK regulations and regularity compliance management
  • Auditing experience or formal internal/external auditor qualifications
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065, 17020, 17025
  • Experience of testing, inspection, and assessment
  • Experience of project scheduling to ensure deadlines are met
