Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, SHEQ, Risk, ICT & Cybersecurity.

Primary purpose of role

Provide construction SHEQ functional support delivering best practice and business and legislative requirements to support the delivery and embedding of the px SHEQ philosophy, strategy and actions.

Lead, manage, engage and develop assigned personnel to deliver roles and responsibilities.

Major duties

Personally demonstrate and champion a positive, professional SHE culture in all interactions with px employees, customers, contractors & visitors, ensuring everyone is aware of personal responsibilities to maintain safety & wellbeing of themselves, colleagues, the environment around them and thus the business.

Be a focal point of SHEQ expertise for projects ensuring compliance with current and future legal requirements.

Lead and manage assigned personnel taking overall responsibility for their supervision, development, welfare and overall effectiveness in role.

Support Engineering in its assigned areas of functional health and safety [SHE] support, e.g. COSHH, Fire, SWP, Noise etc.

Produce Site Construction Phase Plans, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and industry standards and in particular the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM).

Review tenders ensuring each contractor or supplier has suitable, sufficient SHEQ arrangements.

Monitor the construction works, contractors and subcontractors to ensure health and safety [SHE] compliance with the Project CPP.

Ensure Clients and company are kept informed of progress in delivering their requirements for a safe and compliant project and specifically any relevant compliance issues and progress in meeting SHEQ performance targets.

Produce and deliver project health and safety [SHE] inductions.

Define and undertake accurate internal & external audits, assessments and inspections to the required standards and timescales, communicating and closing-out action points to completion.

Review external audit and inspection reports, communicating and ensuring closeout of action points.

Ensure events are investigated. Lead and assist in investigations, preparing accurate and timely reports and ensuring appropriate communication and close out of recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and ensuring

Person

Nebosh Minimum (ideally Diploma or equivilent)

Knowledge of: Construction (Design and Management) Regulations

Preparation of pre-construction Information

Heavy materials handling.

Heavy lifting operations and associated activities experience.

Process plant design & construction projects (civil mechanical electrical and commissioning
