LC/MS Analyst, laboratory testing

Type: Permanent

Location: Bedfordshire

Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 depending on experience

Due to growth and internal promotions, my client - a national testing company is looking to recruit x2 LC /MS Analysts for their new/ state of the art Laboratory HQ. Our client is offering defined career progression and the chance to work for a major brand; if you have experience using LC MS and would like to be conducting more intricate test work, then this is the role for you!

The Role:

  • Follow established procedures to perform trace organic analysis on a wide range of samples/matrices.
  • Operate primarily single and triple quadrupole LC-MS instrumentation, together with other laboratory equipment, as required.
  • Work with extraction staff within the laboratory to ensure samples are prepared for analysis according to customer requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Prepare samples, solutions and reagents following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
  • Process and interprets analytical results for entry onto LIMS.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment. our Experience
  • Experience working within an accredited analytical testing laboratory, ideally within the environmental sector.
  • Experience and understanding of single and triple quadrupole LC-MS systems operating in both EI and CI ionisation modes.
  • Use of Agilent Chemstation and Masshunter software.
  • Experience of sample preparation techniques e.g. liquid: liquid extraction, solid phase extraction etc.
  • Experience of conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting of LC based systems.

The Person:

  • Experience of conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS based systems is essential.
  • Experience working within an accredited analytical testing laboratory, ideally within the environmental sector.
  • Experience and understanding of single and triple quadrupole LC-MS systems operating in both EI and CI ionisation modes.
  • Experience of sample preparation techniques e.g., liquid: liquid extraction, solid phase extraction etc.
