Job Description

Marketing & Communications manager

Russell Taylor are looking for an interim or contract Marketing Manager for a key O&G client based in Cheshire. If you are a freelance Marketing professional who holds a Degree, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Duration - 8 months

Start - ASAP

Rate / Salary - Negotiable

Location - Cheshire

Industry - O&G

Experience - Minimum 5 years managing a marketing function within Manufacturing, Pet-Chem or O&G. Must be a strong communicator with excellent communication skills and a tough character.

Role Specification -

To lead all aspects of marketing for the business and its sectors, including the day-to-day line management, mentoring and development of the Marketing, Communications & CSR team on a fixed term basis. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the role holder will also provide leadership and guidance to the wider organisation so B2B, B2C and strong project management experience is essential.

Key Performance Indicators:

Primary Accountabilities

Marketing and Communications

- Line manage and develop the Marketing, Communications and CSR Team to deliver an efficient, proactive and collaborative function focused on the delivery of high impact, high output projects.

- Create marketing value propositions and messaging.

- Educate key stakeholders on marketing best practice.

- Track and review activity to monitor effectiveness and report on return-on-investment

- Oversee events and the company's attendance at exhibitions and conferences.

- Responsibility for the relationship with, and management of, third party creative agencies.

- Manage the brand and visual identity and adherence to guidelines

Strategy and Development

- Work with Head of Communications and sector leads (including Retail, Commercial and other stakeholders) to develop compelling marketing campaigns that support their growth objectives.

- Identify opportunities to increase external promotion and awareness of the brand.

- Maximise the opportunities and benefits from existing company sponsorships agreements. Identify potential future sponsorship opportunities.

Continuous Improvement

- Support the Communications Team, and the wider Key Stakeholders to implement the effective processes and procedures to enhance Cross Departmental working and understanding

- Work with the Team to ensure development into an effective Communications and Community Department

- Support the Team to ensure a cross skilled Department, and supporting the wider Succession Planning Process

- Review related processes, procedure and documents to ensure they are up to date, legally compliant and encompass Best Practice

Leadership Accountabilities

- Support the Head of Communications and Community to create dynamic and effective Company wide Communications Strategy

- Line Manage responsibilities for Internal Communications and CSR

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Qualifications

- Degree level education or equivalent

- CIM qualification strongly desired.

Experience

- Strong people manager with proven experience of managing and developing high performing teams and agencies.

- Demonstrated knowledge of working across multiple marketing channels, particularly digital and social media.

- Demonstrated success of innovative multi-channel marketing campaigns.

Skills and Attributes

- Highly motivated and ambitious marketer with a customer-centric and commercial approach who can add real marketing expertise, value and ROI.

- Comfortable working under pressure while project managing multiple projects with tight timescales.

- Attention to detail is critical. Must possess a strong creative flair with excellent copywriting, proofing and editing skills.

- Knowledge of sustainability, strategic development and the latest marketing and communications best practices.

- Understanding of energy or manufacturing industries preferred.
