Quantity Surveyor

Permanent London/ Ealing

My client is a housing renovation specialist, that due to continued growth and expansion are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As an experienced Quantity Surveyor, you will have experience in co ordinating and pricing works.

My client works on developments anywhere from £75k through to 3million. They offer a variety of project renovations, extensions, loft conversions on homes through the London area.

The Quantity Surveyor they are looking for will have previous experience on housing projects. You will have the ability to work on multiple jobs, with site visits expected as and when required.

They would like the successful Quantity Surveyor to have proven residential experience, working within the UK market for 5 years.


  • Attending sites to estimate
  • Accurately review tender documents and drawings, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation as per SLA's
  • Attending pre-contract meetings and liaise with Projects team
  • Monitoring site activity and variations
  • Managing multiple projects at a time
  • Establishing and building good relationships with clients
  • Prepare prices and forecast for the project
  • Source construction and specialist materials costs as required.
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
  • Procure contractors and/or subcontractors who will work on the construction of the project
  • Measure and value the work done on site
  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as loss adjusters, site engineers etc.
  • Compile and write reports as and when required

Key Skills

  • Good numeracy
  • A good working knowledge of MS Excel. MS Project, and the ability to learn how to use specialist software.
  • Possess a high attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify missing item within specifications or drawings
  • Residential industry experience essential
  • Insurance industry experience essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • Experience managing multiple jobs at one time
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • The ability to negotiate
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
