Apprentice Zoe Cassidy has her feet firmly on the career progress ladder – thanks to her apprenticeship with Russell Taylor Group.

Zoe, 24, is among the latest cohort of apprentices to join the company at its national headquarters at Riverside Park, Bromborough, where she is part of the finance team.

As an accountancy apprentice, she is working towards her Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and her day-to-day duties currently involve inputting time sheets, sending out invoices, inputting supplier invoices into Sage software and credit checking new customers.

Zoe, who chose the apprenticeship route rather than going to college or university, said: “An apprenticeship is a really good way to get first-hand experience as well as being able to learn something new every day.

“And when it comes to studying for the qualification, there’s always a colleague I can ask if they have any useful tips to help me.”

What Zoe most likes about her job with Russell Taylor Group is the support given to her by everyone in the business.

She said: “If I’m ever struggling with a subject, there’s always someone who will happily sit down with me and show me something that will help me.

“An apprenticeship is an amazing way to get a better understanding of what you’re wanting to study as well as getting yourself on the progress ladder within the industry.”
