YOUNG workplace talent continues to be a major focus of the Russell Taylor Group training and development agenda as the business announces its sponsorship of the Young Chamber category in this year’s West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Recognition Awards.

The Young Chamber Award celebrates the achievements of students whose school or college, by working with local employers, shows commitment to their successful steps into the world of work.

Russell Taylor Group chairman Peter Russell, a keen champion of nurturing young talent within the company as well as in the local communities where the business is based, said: “Young people are the life-blood of organisations like ours so we can ensure continuity of skills and expertise to keep the economy buoyant.

“Supporting the work of the Chamber as it helps to bridge the gap between the education sector and the region’s industry and commerce is a sure way of seeing this talent is trained, developed and given the right opportunities to set young men and women on their career ladder.”

Russell Taylor Group, winner of two awards in the Chamber’s 2021 Recognition Awards – Business of the Year and Young Person of the Year – currently engages with students involved in the Young Chamber programme via a series of events and projects including career fairs, enterprise projects and interview days.

Entries are still open for the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Recognition Awards. Closing date is September 2 and winners will be announced at the awards event on November 11.
