BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Due to expansion, a leading advanced automation and real-time business intelligence company are looking for a Business Development Manager.

Company

They specialise in Automation, Control, IT Solutions and Services with major customers in the Nuclear, Power Generation, Utilities and Transmission markets. The company are renowned for their innovation, technical excellence, project delivery, quality and safety.

Role

Accountable for driving business development within your market segment, the Business Development Manager will be tasked with developing new business and growing key accounts on a national level. Other responsibilities include;
* Build the company's reputation by providing a professional front
* Develop a growth strategy for your market segment which identifies available industry streams and customers
* Develop a sales plan for your market sector that sets out opportunities in detail and provides the business leaders with the information necessary to make decisions
* Ensure growth strategy and sales plan is sufficiently balanced between ambitious but achievable
* Work collaboratively with all departments to develop effective matrix management working, ensuring effective management of bids and risk management

Person

A proven track record in sales and business development is essential. As well as this you will have;
* Proven sales experience of PLC/SCADA/DCS/Telemetry systems or related
* Understanding of automation control systems
* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a drive for outstanding customer service and high performance culture
* Good understanding of business development performance drivers
* Can demonstrate track record of producing and delivering growth strategy and sales plan
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
* Excellent communication skills, being confident and professional
* Understand principles of matric management

Industry knowledge can be from any of the following;
* Nuclear (Defence - knowledge of procurement strategies of MOD, eg)
* Power Generation (Energy from Waste, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Aggregates, Water/Waste Water, Oil and Gas)
* Transmission and Distribution (Renewable Energy, Smart Grids, National Grid, Power Distribution, Substations)
