Russell Taylor are working with a UK leader with specialist experience in process control, automation and SCADA. A Rockwell and Wonderware approved supplier, this dynamic company works with the utilities, chemicals, food & drink and pharmaceuticals industries.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Control Systems Engineer, to be based in Reading.
Expected salary of £35-45k, but potential for negotiation for exceptional candidates.
The role of a Control Systems Engineer will require you to:
- Act as a point of contact for the customer, as project manager
- Manage sub-contractors and control procurement
- Produce project programmes, manage resources and report costs
- Carry out requirements analysis, produce specifications and design documentation
- Develop and configure software for various applications
- Safely test and commission in a working end user environment
- Understand project lifecycles
- Consistently maintain high standards throughout the design process and beyond
- Be adaptable to a range of environments and work within a team
If not already technically competent, it will be essential to become competent in the following:
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Control Panel design and commissioning
- Rockwell ControlLogix
- Rockwell HMI (FTView ME)
- Wonderware System Platform
- Schneider ClearSCADA
Familiarity or the ability to work towards the following would be desirable:

Essential:
- Full UK driving licence
- Happy to travel anywhere in the UK
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
- Personable and presentable
- Adaptable and willing to learn
